Why I Built CorperSpace During My NYSC Year
My NYSC year has been more than a period of national service. It has been an opportunity to reflect on problems around me, explore ideas, and use technology to create something meaningful.
One of those ideas became CorperSpace, a digital marketplace and networking platform designed specifically for corps members in Nigeria.
What began as a personal CDS project became an opportunity to build something that could serve a community I am part of.
The Problem I Wanted to Solve
Being a corps member comes with its own realities. You may need affordable accommodation, want to buy or sell something, be searching for opportunities, or simply wish to connect with other corps members who share your interests.
Yet these needs are often scattered across different WhatsApp groups, social media pages, and informal networks. Information can be difficult to find, opportunities can be missed, and connecting with the right people is not always straightforward.
I began thinking about a simple question: What if corps members had one digital space built around their everyday needs?
That question became the foundation of CorperSpace.
Turning an Idea Into a Real Project
As a software developer and entrepreneur, I believe technology should do more than demonstrate technical ability. It should solve real problems and make everyday life easier.
I therefore approached CorperSpace as more than a website. The vision was to create a digital environment where corps members could buy, sell, discover accommodation, find opportunities, and build useful connections.
The platform brings together marketplace and community features under one roof. Its guiding idea is captured in four simple words:
Buy. Sell. Rent. Find. Connect.
Developing CorperSpace as my personal CDS project also meant taking responsibility beyond writing code. It involved defining the problem, planning the solution, developing the platform, considering its sustainability, and working towards bringing it to the people it was designed to serve.
The project received approval and progressed to commissioning. Seeing an idea move from concept to a working platform reinforced an important lesson for me: meaningful projects require more than inspiration. They require execution, persistence, and a willingness to keep improving.
Why CorperSpace Matters to Me
For me, CorperSpace represents the kind of impact I want to make through technology.
I want to build products that address real needs, create opportunities, and remain useful beyond the moment they are launched. I also want my experience during NYSC to demonstrate that national service can be a period of innovation, initiative, and community development.
CorperSpace is still on its journey. Its long-term value will depend on the people who use it, the trust it earns, and how well it responds to the needs of corps members.
My hope is that it becomes a useful digital home for corps members across Nigeria, helping them discover opportunities, exchange value, and connect with people who can make their service year more productive.

This is the beginning of the CorperSpace story, and I look forward to sharing more about the building process, the lessons learned, the challenges encountered, and the impact we hope to create.
Sometimes, the most meaningful projects begin with a simple decision: stop waiting for someone else to solve a problem and start building the solution yourself.
